What is an Allergy Filter?

Every day someone calls and asks about allergy filters. What is an allergy filter you ask. Well I guess it depends on what your allergic to.

There is not one filter just of allergies. There are air filters to take care of airborne allergens such as pollen, dust, mold, bacteria, animal dander, etc. There are water filters designed to remove heavy metals, chlorine, pesticides and other contaminates. Both take care of specific problems related to specific allergies.

More and more people are becoming aware of the problems associated with breathing dirty air. Because of this awareness the product offering of allergy filters for "airborne allergies" has exploded. We have HEPA, ULPA, UVC, Ozone, Ionizers, Photocatalysis and Radiant just to mention a few.  New ones are introduced boasting of this or that "new" technology.  They are designed specifically for the house, office, car, boat, plane and pet. You name it, someone has come out with an air filter for it.

Deciding which filter you need depends on what your trying to filter out. Read " How to Evaluate Allergy Filters" it gives you a good idea of how the different type of "allergy filters" do. I personally have a good filter in my  AC, HEPA air cleaner in the bedroom and a UV system in the airhandler.

Wishing you the best of health

I never really had much trouble with allergies before but I am really concerned about my kid, he is allergic to few things and I find it hard to protect him all the time so these allergy filters are extremely useful to me at the moment.

when my kids lived at home I had Austin Air junior HealthMate machines in their rooms. When they left home, they took their machines with them. Then I had to get more so that the air would be good when they visit. They really do make a difference, whether it is for kids or adults

Allergy filters refers to air filters that effectively block various allergens like pollen, dust, bacteria etc. But before buying an air filter it is essential that you determine what you are allergic to. In fact a lot of allergy filters have newly come to market. More and more companies are realizing the importance of this untapped market. The disheartening thing is that the future will belong to allergy filters. We have plundered nature in such a way that our children and grand children will have to wear oxygen masks. It is high time that we open our eyes. We should conserve nature so that at least our grand children may be saved.
