Allergy Proof Dust Mite Proof Bedding Covers

Ok, I think my title got it all.

We get calls all the time asking us what is allergy bedding, or what are dust mite covers and allergy proof encasing.

You just went to the doctor, they told you that you are allergic to dust mites, hand you one of our (or someone's else) catalogs and tell you should cover your bed. Sound familiar?

Allergy bedding, dust mite covers, allergy proof bedding or mattress encasing are what we call our specialized bedding products. It dose not matter what you call them, they all do the same thing because they are the same.

The covers your doctor recommended you put on your bed are made of special fabric, membraned or micro-weave. A micro-fiber is fabric that is so tightly woven and creates a barrier and membraned fabrics have a urethane coating on the inside and that is what causes it to be allergy proof.

There are many companies, including the Allergy Store, that carry these covers. When you think about covering your bedding you need to remember it is not just the mattress. You need to cover the mattress, box spring, pillows, toppers and comforters. A good rule is, if you can't wash it every week, then cover it.

We have chosen to carry a larger selection of dust mite covers simply because not everyone can afford the Pristine allergy covers. The truth is vinyl is just as effective as Pristine, but would be super uncomfortable to sleep on.

To read my complete response go to " What are allergy bed covers" in our Q&A section.

Wishing you the best of health
Mike Krause

Very interesting article, thank you for your tips.
However, I've read that 100% Egyptian Cotton is usually alergy free. I'm not sure, but many people recommend duvet bedding made of pure Egyptian Cotton.

    cheers,

Thanks, Egyptian cotton is comfortable but not allergy free. Even the finest bedding, bedding with tc of 1000, 1200, 1500 (many stories of these tc being false)will have allergens on them. That is why they must be washed weekly just like the lesser quality sheets you find at the Walmarts of the world. Cotton does make for a very nice duvet cover. I have one of our 100% cotton on our bed.

We covered all of our bedding with your allergy covers and it worked great. You need to tell your customers to cover everything, mattress, pillows, box springs, comforter, the works. When we called your guy was helpful, did not try to sell us stuff didn't need but did not mention the comforter cover. That made a big difference.

    regards

PS pay more attention to your blog. good info but your a little slow in responding
