CFC Propelled Albuterol Inhalers Are No More..

As many of you know, as of January 1st, 2009 CFC propelled albuterol inhalers are no more. The FDA has banned them because they feel they are harmful to the environment. Read the release...

While the government may feel they are bad for the environment I don't think they gave much consideration to the person who has to use the inhalers. We have heard that the HFA-propelled albuterol inhalers don't deliver the medication as effectively and deeply as the CFC propelled inhalers and are harder to take care of. Nothing like a clogged inhaler when your having an asthma attack and can't get air into your lungs. Seconds do count...

The other issue is the cost. The CFC inhalers cost about $10-$15 and the new HFA inhalers run about $40-$50. Thats a hefty increase for something that many feel does not work as well as the old one.

We believe that a person should know what triggers their asthma attacks and either avoid or control them. For many years we have helped people control their asthma with our selection of allergy and asthma relief products. However nobody should not have to worry about their rescue inhalers when they find themselves in a situation where it is the only thing standing between them and the hospital.

Wishing you the best of health and a great 2009
