HEPA Vacuum Cleaners From Miele
For years we have sold and used vacuum cleaners made by Miele because we feel they are the best HEPA vacuums available.
I can still remember when the local Miele rep stopped by for a sales call and introduced use to their new HEPA canister model, the Medivac. He was telling us how well Miele vacuums were made when he picked up the vacuum and threw it across out tile floor. It bounced a few times, hit the wall and came to rest on it's top. Then he went over to it and stood on top of it. He was showing us just how strong and durable the housing was. Years later that same Miele vacuum is still going strong. We gave it to our daughter when she moved out to go to college and it has survived.
Miele makes something like 25 - 26 vacuum cleaner models. Everything from a toy vacuum for the kids to the top of the line S5980. Each one is designed, manufactured and tested so they will last you a lifetime.
After looking at and playing with the various models we have chosen 5 as the best ones for allergy and asthma suffers. We think one of these 5 Miele vacuum cleaners will solve any situation. All of these vacuums have HEPA filtration systems.
The Callisto is the full size canister vacuum with the electric power head. A great choice for someone with medium to deep pile carpet especially someone with pets.
Miele's Pisces vacuum cleaner is also a full size canister model but has the air driven power head. If you have low to medium pile carpet, area or oriental rugs this would be a good choice.
The Neptune model, replaces the Antares, is a mid size canister vacuum with the air driven power head. A smaller vacuum for a smaller home with low to medium pile carpet and tile or wood floors.
For the upright vacuum lover we have the Bolero upright vacuum. This is a beautifully designed vac that has all the bells and whistles Miele offers, unbelievable maneuverability that can get in to places no other upright can.
If you have a small apartment, RV, loft or boat the S168 mini-upright vacuum cleaner would be a perfect choice. It is powerful, versatile, easy to use and light weight.
These vacuums are priced anywhere from 399.00 to 899.00. I can hear now..but they are so expensive. Your right, they are not cheap. You can go to Walmart and buy a Eureka or some other brand of vacuum for under 200.00 but do you think it will still be working 5, 10, 20 years from now. I don't think so. Don't believe me, ask your friend what type of vacuum cleaner they have. If someone tells you a Miele I bet you they will have nothing but good things to tell you about them.
We have been using our Miele, a Crystal, for a couple of years now and it has done a great job. I still do some small mold remediation projects now and then and I use our Miele. My wife is not to happy about it but I always clean it up before I bring it back into the house.
Wishing you the best of health and a great 2009

They are not cheap$ but worth every penny. Have an old cat&dog that works as good today as it did when I got it. Electric head a plus if you have carpet and dogs.

I also had a Medi-Vac that ran for years. I gave it to my daughter when I purchased my Crystal. Since I no longer have any carpet or rugs in the house I am thinking about the Pisces. I read that the Antares is nice for smooth floors (which I have) but I have a large home and am concerned about the bag size. Would I be better off getting the larger vacuum even though I have no carpets? I was going to e-bay my Crystal but my son asked if he could have it. You know a vacuum is good when your kids ask for the hand-me downs. So which model should I get?

Miele vacuums are great. Based on what you told me, the Pisces will be a good choice. By the way, the Antares was replaced by the Neptune (aqua vs red). It has all the feathures you have grown to love with your Crystal and medi-vac

Dust mites are a serious problem for me and vacuum cleaners don't really help, I don't know what's wrong but I think it's related to my floor, I am seriously considering to replace it...

What are the major advantage of HEPA vacuum cleaners from Miele?

Using rugs and mats for animals sometime attract the germs which cause infection to us which is the best mathod to clean them?

It really depends on the mat or rug. We usually recommend having the carpets dry cleaned since some steam cleaners leave the carpet too damp and then that causes a mold/mildew problem.

How do you clean your bed linen and carpet area in your bedroom to prevent children from getting allergies ?

I don't believe you can clean something so that it prevents allergies. All we can do is limit the exposure to the things that can cause allergic reactions.
As far as cleaning the bedding we recommend washing the sheets, pillow covers and blankets in either Demite laundry additive or Allerserach Allergen wash. These products remove the dust mite and other allergens. They have been found to be very effective. The first thing you really should do is cover the mattress and pillows with a dust mite cover. Many find this solves the majority of their problems with dust mites.
Carpeting can be traeted a couple of ways. Both the Xmite and ADS antiallergy spray from Allersearch work well. The Xmite works best on deeper pile carpets. Of course the best thing to do is remove it but most people can't do it. FYI. make sure you do the vacuuming early in the day. That way whatever you stir up has a chance to settle before the children go to sleep.
Wishing you the best of health

I was wondering about vacuum cleaners cause my kids have allergies and asthma. my mother has a Kirby sentria is this a good vacuum or should i look into a different vacuum.

I don't know a lot about this model of Kirby vacuum. We have customers that either love their Kirby ot hate them and there does not seem to be any middle ground. Personally I find most Kirby vacuums to be loud, heavy and hard to push around. We use and have always used canister vacuums so I'm not much of an upright fan.
We like the Miele line of vacuums because of the quality construction, ease of use and HEPA filtration system. The most important thing for allergy sufferers is get a vacuum that has really good filtration. It does no good to vacuum if all your vacuum cleaner is doing is putting the small particles back into the air. In fact too many vacuums being sold as HEPA type today do more harm than good.

Some vacuum cleaners include an electric mop in the same machine: for a dry and a later wet clean.

Just because a vacuum has a HEPA filter does not mean it is dust free. Many HEPA vacuum cleaners allow micron size allergens to escape through poorly sealed canisters, filters and hose connections.

HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner features a power brush with two motors, a charcoal filter and another power brush that you could easily disconnect

Check online for a miele vacuum cleaner at authorized miele dealer websites. Many dealers provide free shipping, internet bargains, markdown prices, troubleshooting and also repair vacuums. Take a look at your yellow pages for local miele dealers in nearby surrounding areas and Ebay's website as well. Review references and recommendations on the internet, concerning the advantages of owning a miele vacuum cleaner.

It might be worth investing into a HEPA vacuum, for the health benefits alone. I have allergies, and my partner has asthma; keeping our air free of dust and allergens is a constant concern, and air cleaners don't quite do the job. It's nice to know that some companies think of these things!

Vacuums that help with air quality are essential in my neighbourhood. We have some chemical industries near enough to affect our children. If we can make at least the air in our homes a little cleaner, I'll be the more happier. The story about the sales rep standing on the vacuum is so funny! But it really shows the quality of the product.
