How To Keep Your Dust Mite Covers Clean

How do I keep my covers clean? We get this question several times a day. The answer is simple... wash them like you do the rest of your bedding.

All of the dust mite covers we sell are easy to care for because they are machine washable just like your sheets. The mattress cover only needs to be washed once or twice a year unless something is spilled on it. The pillow covers may be washed a little more often. We wash ours about every 6 to 9 weeks. We just toss them in with the sheets.

Simply put the dust mite covers in the washing machine, set it on the regular cycle, fill it with warm water and add your laundry detergent (we recommend using either Allergen Wash laundry detergent or DeMite laundry additive). Then dry them on the medium heat setting and you are done. Don't use any chlorine bleach.

If you are washing a membrane fabric dust mite cover it may be holding a good deal of water so be careful when you pull it out of the washer.. Also don't use the sanitizing setting on the newer dryers because the high heat may damage the membrane.

Oh yea, make sure the covers are completely dry before you put them back on the mattress or pillow.

Like I said, taking care of your dust mite covers is pretty simple.

Wishing you the best of health

We wash our covers once a year. It's no fun to take it off a king size bed but well worth having it on it. We also like the demite better than the allerwash.

      JD,

Washing your dust mite cover every 6 months or so is fine. The pillow covers will need to be washed more often, my wife does ours every 4 to 6 weeks. My wife also likes the De-mite better. She likes the smell of the tea tree oil and thinks it does a better job of keeping the allergens at bay.

      Thanks
      Mike
