The Guardian just reported:

"The blood-sucking menace that has infiltrated Manhattan's skyscrapers has taken another scalp, after the headquarters of media
empire Time Warner became the latest landlord to own up to the presence of bedbugs.The city that supposedly never sleeps is under attack by night from an epidemic of stealthy, tiny, red-brown creatures that leave a tell-tale trail of itchy welts, distress, embarrassment and anxiety."

I wonder how they got infested?

For the past couple of years we have been seeing bedbug problems increasing. In the beginning we got calls from people who had been traveling but now we are hearing from people that bought furniture, moved into a new home or had a neighbor that had them and somehow they  crossed the hall. It is a very real problem now.

One of the best tings you can do is cover you mattress, box springs and pillows with bedbug proof covers. While they will not keep bedbugs from crossing over from the neighbor they will protect your bed and keep them out of their favorite hiding spot.
