Best Air Cleaner for Mold - Mike's View
Many people think that mold in their homes may be causing their health problems while others are just concerned about the smell. Either way many are unsure if air purifiers and cleaners will help. Yes, air cleaners will help..
We carry several different air cleaners and all of them will help remove mold spores from a room. Most mold spores range between one and five microns in size and HEPA air filters must remove 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 microns. That means any air filter certified as HEPA takes care of mold spores. Some are just better at it than others.
I personally prefer the Austin Air Allergy Machine if the customers main concern are the particles, like mold, floating in the air. The Austin Allergy Machine uses the HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Absorption) filtration cloth in combination with the medical grade pleated HEPA filter. This allows for greater air flow which removes mold spores as well as other airborne particles from the area quickly and efficiently. When we changed the filter in our Austin at home last year we put in the Allergy Machine replacement filter and noticed the difference immediately. Even though the Allergy Machine does not have the activated carbon that the other Austin Air HEPA air cleaners do it will reduce the odors in the area.
Mold, is it a problem or just a part of nature that we have to accept? Yes, mold is a part of nature and also plays an important part in our life. Mold is good - outdoors! Mold inside your home or workplace is not good.
