Pollen Counts On the Rise

If you are in the Midwest, from Chicago Illinois to Columbus Ohio, prepare for rising pollen counts headed into the week-end.  Places like Louisville Kentucky and Kansas City Missouri will also have a spike in pollen counts. Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas will continue to have pollen counts in the high and medium high categories.

Lovely week-end weather and high pollen counts aren't a great combination if you suffer from seasonal allergies. Resist the urge to open those windows.  I know its hard, but its even harder to try to get all the pollen particles out of the house.

If your plans call for outdoor activities like gardening, tailgating, or visiting the local farmer's market or pumpkin patch be sure to wash your clothing to remove the allergens when you get home. Use the same Allergen wash antiallergen laundry detergent that you use to get the dust mites out of your sheets to remove the pollen from your clothes.  Wash your hair.  Your clothing and hair are magnets for pollen.  What the winds blow, your hair and clothing trap. You have to be careful not to spread it all over your house

If you are in Eugene Oregon or Burlington Vermont you are in luck.  Your pollen counts are low and will continue to be low over the week-end. Remember, you can always get your local pollen counts at Pollen.com.  They even have a fancy little smart phone app

Til Next Time!
