Easy Care Of Your Austin Air HEPA Air Cleaner

One of the reasons we like the Austin Air HEPA air cleaners is how easy it is to maintain.

Whenever you are cleaning the room simply dust, wipe, or vacuum the outside of the air cleaner. If you are using some type of spray cleaner we suggest you turn the air cleaner off. You don’t want it sucking the 409 in. About once or twice a year we do open our air cleaner up, we have the Healthmate regular in our bedroom, and pull out the filter and prefilter and vacuum them.

DO NOT use any type of liquid cleaner on the filter because it will ruin it. Just vacuum it or hit it with compressed air. We find that our filter lasts about 4 1/2 years between changes and ours run 24/7 365 days a year and we have 3 cats. By the way, ours is 12 years old and still going strong.</P>

Does Tannic Acid Remove Allergens From Carpeting

Products like Allersearch Xmite Carpet Treatment really do work. The tannic acid in Xmite reduces the dust mite allergens by denaturing the proteins that are causing the allergic reactions. The application of the product is simple and straightforward. Sprinkle the Xmite carpet treatment powder on the carpet or rug and work it into the fibers with a stiff broom. Let it sit for about 3 hours and then vacuum the carpet. We do suggest you toss the vacuum bag when you are finished.
Each treatment with Xmite will last about 90 days.
